Scanning a receipt to auto-fill an expense in EconoGlance

Turn a photo of any receipt into a ready-to-split expense. Receipt scanning is a Pro feature.

How to scan

  1. In Add expense, tap Scan receipt (with the AI badge).

  2. Choose Take photo or Choose from library.

  3. Wait a couple of seconds while we read it.

  4. We fill in the merchant (title), grand total (after tax), a category, and line items when present.

  5. Review, adjust, and tap Save expense.

If the receipt has items, the split switches to Items so you can assign each line.

Tips for best results

  • Lay the receipt flat and capture the whole thing.

  • Good lighting and focus help a lot.

  • Crumpled or faded receipts may need a retake — tap Rescan.

Privacy

Your receipt image is sent securely to our AI service only to extract details. The processing key is held on our servers and never ships in the app. We don't sell your data.

Limits

Pro includes up to 120 AI scans per month. You'll see how many remain when you start a scan.
